shitty games...
we were supposed to play wednesday, which was postponed to today at 18:30, which was then postponed to 21:00 today, already a day after the deadline (which was all fine with me). so taking that into account and considering the fact that i had warmed up for almost 2 hours, i didn't start a huge revolt when rock^ refused to play on any server outside finland. i just basically wanted to get it over with. sadly, peliporti doesn't allow minping, so this was the deal. rock shaftowned me on dm4 with 36%lg and also managed to use his superior aim against me on aerowalk.
he made a pretty good impression on dm4 and i probably would have lost that anyway, but i was definitly the better player on aerowalk. well... not really much i can do; I guess in a way it was stupid to ready up in first place, because played means played, but there were no admins on the server and postponing this game AGAIN didn't seem like a good idea.
maybe rock would have won anyway, but this win sure as hell didn't gain him any new respect, and i'm sure the specs agree.

Kinda lame behaviour by Rock.. but on the other hand (i also made this mistake) you should be strict. No fucking around with pings! Play on fair servers or don't play at all.
Would have been nice if you had still won, but Quakeworld is not Hollywood, no happy endings for the good guys ;)

looking at the pings this game must have been a disgrace, shouldnt an admin step in if a player behaves this way? (even after a game has been played)

Lol. I got 50-70ms to Danmark, and 50ms to Sweden. I said to soma that we can play later too, like after 30mins. Maybe then the ping to foreign countries would have been ok. Well, what was soma´s answer then? He said, he wants to play it immediately. So the only choice left was to play it at Finland.

And btw, I didn´t have a decent 13ms in that game. My ping jumped all around from 13ms to 40ms in that game. That´s because of there´s many ppl using the same connection and some of them are downloading at the evenings. The ping might have been good after 30mins because people go to sleep and some of them stops the leeching, but soma didn´t want to try that choice.

Anyway, ggs and thanks to soma for being so active in trying to schedule the match in a democratical way.

I agree your ping sucked on dvdalright, but you pinged 26-29 on tele2adsl, but all of a sudden said "lol. back to peliporti" and dropped before i could even reply. when we were back at peliporti, the specs noted that a wargamez server was now free. we went to wargamez, where you had ping 65. now obviously, ping 65 is unacceptable, but since you had ping 13 in finland i doubt its impossible for you to get at least 39 on wargamez, if not 26. qizmos? anyway, just like on tele2adsl you said "back to peliporti" before i even said *anything*. I went back to peliporti, where you readied up as i joined -> idlebot.
you said you could *maybe* play in denmark later. but like i said... i had been warming up, i was anxious to play, didn't wanna postpone again, and we had already been discussing and hopping around servers for about 30 minutes! i was so fed up in the end that i said "fuck it. lets just get it over with then" and readied up after you had already turned on idle bot twice.
anyway... lets just leave it at that. i readied up, so i shouldn't complain.

3 things are kind of odd:

1. why should soma play with a ping disadvantage if its rock's line that sucked? especially if you consider the match has been postponed a couple of times by rock. i think in such a case it would have been preferable to give rock a 50 ping instead of coercing soma to play in .fi.

2. i dont think it should matter that soma readied up. i totally get his frustration and at some point you just want to get it over with, since its just a game... BUT if admins dont consider this kind of behaviour by the opponent, then acting lame wins out in the end, and that would be very sad.

3. i agree with soma that had qizmos been used, there would have probably been a fair match on some .dk or .se server.. imho the fact alone, that rock made no effort whatsoever to make the pings fair should be sufficient grounds to have this replayed.

Okay, ,let me clear up some things again.

First of all, don´t say that i didn´t try to re-route my connection. I tried to connect to Sweden (for example) with FOUR different qizmos, none of them helped.

Secondly, NO-ONE forces you soma to type that ready. If you think that conditions are unfair, you can always contact admin or somebody to give their opinion about conditions. YOU were the one who typed ready, so don´t blame anyone else about playing that game.

Thirdly, what comes to soma´s "mighty" warmups and his attitude about this game, i would say he gives a little bit wrong picture about it. He said in the beginning of scheduling the match, that he´s gonna meet his parents at weekend. I said how about playing the game on Sunday then. Guess what was his answer? He said, "lol, are u moron?". And last but not least, he even forgot that we have a match, when we had scheduled it to 21cet. I msg'd him many times at 20.57cet that are u ready now, without an answer. After waiting him almost 30min he gave me an answer and said he had forgot the match.

Fourthly, my ping was NOT 26-29 to tele2adsl. It was like 33,39,58,61,33,34,61,39.

And last but not least, do you guys really think that I like to set things up to way that players has different pings? Hell no, I indeed want that all players has the same kind of pings, was it a 1on1 or 4on4 game or anything. I even enjoy it, that both players has the same ping, so no-one can blame about the pings when loosing. But when we had a situation where are two choices:

- player X has ping 33,49,62,39 pl 0-10% and player Y has a very decent 26ms pl 0% ping (Swedish / Danish servers),
- player X has ping 13,13,41,13,13,28,13 pl 0-5% and player Y has a verey decent 35-39 pl0% ping (Finnish servers)

Summasummarum: after evaluating all these factors you notice that it was a very rational choice to play the game in Finland, in THAT second when I had ping jumps.

Like I said, your ping to dvdalright seemed fucked, but you didn't try more than one qizmo for denmark. secondly, it's like kal'el said: its a bit ironic that *I* have to play with a ping disadvantage if *your* line sucks.

And yes, like I said myself: I guess it was pretty stupid to ready up. if you scroll up a little it says "I guess in a way it was stupid to ready up in first place, because played means played" and "lets just leave it at that. i readied up, so i shouldn't complain".

And please... let's not start making things up. I never said "lol, are u moron?" or *anything* close to that or even *anything* that could be interpreted as an insult. as a proof, I have uploaded the entire rock_.log (http://www.teddyadventures.com/rock.txt). Read it yourself or go through your own fucking log. The log includes everything we ever wrote to eachother. It's quite long but I didn't wanna cut anything out.

And as for my "mighty warmups" and me "forgetting our match":

Exactly, I was playing 2on2 ladder when I noticed all of a sudden that "fuck, its already 21:15".

As for the ping: Believe what you wanna believe. I saw it, the specs saw it. I readied up which I shouldn't have done. I'm not demanding a rematch. You won, byebye.

ehm, i watched the first five minutes on dm4 and your ping was rocksolid then so that statement is just zzzzzz
