Clients |
The only proxys/clients allowed in Duelmania are Mqwcl 0.96 and the latest official release versions of FuhQuake. The Qizmo proxy version 2.91 is also allowed as it can help with routing. Standard QWCL clients are no longer allowed.
Concerning FuhQuake/Mqwcl f_checks:
FuhQuake is required to have -ruleset smackdown cmd line parameter added.
To check for cheats, such as fake clients, modified models and sound, you need to check 2 things. First you have to determine, whether or not the clients on the server are genuine, ie. not modified. Next you can check for modified models. The procedure is explained in detail as follows:
1. Checking for client authentication:
For Mqwcl you need to do an f_version, then a list_clients to check if the replying Mqwcl clients are genuine.
For FuhQuake you need to do an f_version, then a validate_clients, to check if the replying FuhQuake clients are genuine.
2. Checking for modified models, sounds etc.
f_modified will reply if players have modified anything. All players must reply all models ok. If a player drops after a f_check, the player must be rechecked when he returns to the server.

DuelMania admins are here to help you, so if you ever need our assistance or have a question, you can find us from channel #duelmania, in QuakeNet. Everyone who has “@” in front of their nicks should be an admin.

DuelMania Registration |
You will be given a username and password, this is for reporting matches and is unique for each player, so don't lose it and don't give it away.
Any false or lame registrations will be deleted. Be quick, since the fastest ones will get the chance to play in DuelMania! First come - first serve, that is.
DuelMania is open for all European QW players.

Game settings |
Timelimit is 10 minutes.
Overtime should be set to 3 minutes.
DMM3.
No powerups.
Discharges on.
No fairpacks.
Normal qw spawns.
maxfps 77
no berzerk-midair-instagib or other unusual modes.

Maps |
Allowed maps are DM2, DM4, DM6, Aerowalk and Ztndm3.
Both players will choose a map. Both players must tell their maps before the match starts.
The first map to play is the one of the higher seeded player. that player is marked in the tourney-tree and in the "Next Match" section of the player-panel.
Winning the match requires winning two maps.
In 1-1 situation:
If one map has been played twice, it will be the decider aswell. If there has been two different maps played, the third map will be determined by this formula: each player tells which one of the remaining 3 maps he doesn't want to play. The map which was left over will be the decider. First map winner picks first.
In the Winner-Bracket-, Loser-Bracket and Grande-Finale 3 maps have to be won, in order to win the match. The map-order is determined like announced above with the difference that a map mustn't be played twice. if a 4.map is necessary, then it has to be one of the two maps which are left. it is chosen by the loser of the 3.map. the 5.map (if necessary) is then the map which haven't got selected yet.

Other important stuff |
Disconnecting voluntarily during Duelmania match means a straight WO.
No unnecessary whining (then again, what kind of whining is necessary?)
Lame people will be treated lame, nice people will be treated nice.
Any kind of idling or lameness will not be tolerated.
Players who cheat, or try to cheat will be permbanned from DuelMania.

Reporting matches |
The winner reports the match results ASAP on the web. Log in and go to the 'Next Match' link in the Player Panel and click on 'report match'. there you upload screenshots, insert winner/loser and frags.
Screenshots must be in .jpg- or .gif-format and if possible in a width of 320 pixels.
No match will be registered before the match has been reported 100% correct. No exceptions!

Servers |
Since there are players representing many different nations in DuelMania, be prepared to play with higher ping than you're used to.
Matches must be played on a server where the average ping difference between players is smallest.
For helping you to find the most equal server, we've put a duelserver list on our pages.
If you can't agree with your opponent about the server, please contact admins about it. Admin decision is final.

Timeframe |
All matches will have a deadline. If players can't organize themselves to get games played and reported by the end of the deadline, then WO will be given to the player that proved admins that he really tried to make the game happen.
If either player pays no interest at all to get the game played, both players loses, meaning both are out of the tournament.
Deadlines for each stage of the tournament will be announced at the "Next Match" link in the Player Panel and will be advertised in #duelmania topic at quakenet (irc).

Tournament system |
Single elimination system, which changes to double elimination when there are 64 players remaining.
DuelMania will start with a 128 player chart if we've under 200 signups. If we'll get 200 or more signups, DuelMania will start with a 256 player chart.
