...REPPIE. Congratulations to reppie from netherlands for winning the grand final of DuelMania4. Beating phantasy from sweden 3-2 (Demos / Match Report). We have seen a nice 5-mapper with rather clear results in the first 3 maps and some more tight action in the latter 2 maps.
I wanna say thank you to the players who brought us the biggest duelmania so far with 289 participants, to the admin kru Drugs-Bunny, Zkilfing, jogihoogi and sassa, to my lil cam-team and of course to DJ wheat for doing commentary in the WB final and ParadokS/Hangtime for doing the grand final commentary.
After the winners bracket and losers bracket finals, the two protagonists of this DuelMania season's grand final are figured out: reppie from netherlands and phantasy from sweden.
Nobody can say that they had an easy way to the grand final since both had to play a dramatic five-map-match to reach it - with reppie beating UL (Demos+Commentary / Match Report) and phantasy beating UL (Demos / Match Report).
The double elimination system allows for loosing one time in the tourney, so that reppie as winner of the WB can loose one time to phanta and still has a chance to win the tournament. The grand final will take place on Sunday, 2004-09-05 @ 22:00 CET.
For spectating the match, qizmo cams will be set up and we will also have the pleasure of DJ Wheat doing the commentary again. Watch out for .qws on irc. Good luck to both players!!!!!!111111

Slowly but surely DuelMania is reaching its climax. We are just about to have the winners bracket final and the last rounds in the losers bracket.
Six matches in total are remaining. Amongst other matches: reppie vs UL - with winner being in the grand final and only requiring one victory to be TEH chief-master-charge of DuelMania 4. The match is taking place most likely Saturday 21.August 2004 (the exact schedule will be announced in time). seese vs phantasy - the second semi final in LB with winner facing fix in the LB semi final elimination round.
We have had the pleasure to watch some really H!O!T! rounds the last days especially on Aerowalk.The Aerowalk-games of fix/reppie (Demos / Match Report), XN/Gamer (Demos / Match Report) and seese/hlt (Demos / Match Report) were just awesome to watch and involved some really nice actions. This map is becoming my favourite as the tourney goes along.
We also got to watch the long awaited match reppie/the-interceptor (Demos / Match Report) which was one of the tightest rounds ever played in DuelMania with a big wtf-moment in the ZTNDM3-decider. :)
Since we are now well over the deadline of the WB-Round6/LB-Round9 and there are stillremaining games to be played, the admin-team decided to push the deadline one week.We feel like that at this stage of the tournament it isn't appropriate to give walkovers,especially when those have to be given due to vis major like ISP problems and stuff.So the deadline of WB-Round6/LB-Round9 is pushed to 2004-08-01and all deadlines for the subsequent rounds are pushed by one week.
This also would make it possible that the long awaited match between inter and reppiehas not to end with a walkover and finally we will get the pleasure to watch those two fightingon the weekend of 07./08. august.
Radio iTG will still cover the WB Final and the Grand Final. The WB Final will be on the weekend of 20.-22.august (because the weekend before is QuakeCon) and the Grand Final will be on the weekend of 27.-29.august.

Good news everyone, I just got off from a talk with Dj Wheat from the Radio iTG crew.
It's now official, they will be covering the Winners Bracket Final (06-08.aug) and Grand Final (20-22.aug) matches. As soon as we know more about who, where and when the matches will be played I'll post some news on www.esreality.com so that we can attract some more spectators.
I wish all the contendants good luck and hopefully that the finals become the best ever!
ps! they might even get a chick to do some coverage :) I'll also try to create a democast pack or something if I manage to record it all.
